Welcome to Thomas21.de
Hi, my name is Thomas Skolik, I was born in 1981 in Poland. I lived in Poland until 1986 and then my parents moved to Germany. Now I have been living in Germany for almost 18 years. In 2001 when I finished my Abitur (high school), I left Germany and went to the USA as an aupair. After I finished my year in Denver, I had to go back to Germany to do my social service where I worked in a nursing home. Since 2003, I have been studying computer science at the University of Bonn.

I developed my interest for photography many years ago, but it became more serious when I moved to the USA in 2001. There, I spent a beautiful year in Denver/ Colorado , exploring the mountains and the national parks in and around Colorado. During my time in Colorado, I developed a love and an appreciation for the wilderness. Some of the visitors here might be surprised that I am presenting so many photos from the USA, but since 2001 I have been traveling to Colorado at least twice a year to visit my friends. While being in Denver, I am trying to travel as much as I can to discover the beautiful southwest of the USA, so I hope you like some of my shots.

What I forgot to mention, I am beeing asked why I am having three flags of poland , germany and the EU. Well, as you know now, I am born in poland, live in germany and I am proud to be in the European Union :) :)
Camera Equipment
My first SLR Camera was a Minolta Dynax 9 with a 24-85/3.5-4.5. I changed my whole camera equipment in the end of 2003. I got my first digital SLR Canon 10d, that I have been still using. My lenses are Canon 17-40 f/4L, Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS and a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM. I am also using my two flashes Canon Speedlite 580 Ex and the smaller version 420EX. My first tripod was a heavy one, so after hiking some mountains, I recognized pretty early , that I had to get a lighter tripod. So I bought the Gitzo G1128, which was kind of expensive and painfull spending so much money :), but it was worth and I didn't regret it at all.
